• Fifty-three percent of the energy used in Texas is consumed by the industrial sector.
• Texas consumes almost 20% of the energy used by industry in the US. 
  The next largest industrial energy consumer is Louisiana, at less than 7 % of the US total.
• Industrial energy usage in our region is dominated by three sectors: refining, chemicals and forest products.
